 Tour Itinerary (Kailash Mansarovar Yatra)

Day 1

 

Arrival in Katmandu. Transfer to Hotel Gangjong or Similar overnight stay.

Day 2

AM: Visit Pashupatinath Temple and Budanilkantha and Drive to Dhulikhel. PM: Briefing & Preparation for trip. Overnight stay at Hotel Arniko [Dhulikhel].

Day 3

Early breakfasts at hotel, Drive to Kodari. lunch at kodari (Nepal border), after immigration and custom formalities - we proceed         to Zhangmu (China border), here we meet our Chinese guide, drivers and vehicles (Bus - Toyota Land Cruiser) continue drive to    Nyalam (our first overnight in China), Dinner and overnight at Hotel Sesabang Nyalam.

Day 4

Nyalam – Day free for acclimatization.

Whole day we are here for the acclimatization, all meals will be provided - overnight stay.

Day 5

Drive Nyalam to New Dongba (4300 m), approx. 350 km. Overnight at Hotel Yak New Dongba.

Day 6

Drive New Dongba to Lake Mansarovar (395km). Today is the day for the lifetime that you are going to have darshan of the    Holy “Mt. Kailash & Lake Manasarover”. Same day round Mansarovar Lake and arrive Chu Gompa. Overnight at Guest House.

Day 7

Drive to Darchen (4620 m) base camp of Kailash. Overnight at Hotel Kailash Darchan.

Day 8

Darchen – Tarboche – Dirapuk (4860 m).    "Tough day” - after breakfast drive to Tarboche (8 kms) and start trek for Kailash parikrama to Diraphuk ( 16,500 ft ) - 12 kms , light lunch on the way, Dinner overnight at Tented camp.

Day 9

Dirapuk – Zuthulpuk (4760 m).          Dolma-la pass (5200 m). This is the day every pilgrims talk about, the most difficult journey throughout the yatra - trek up to the 18,600ft. (Dolma- la Pass) - descend to Gauri kund and further trek along with the river to Zuthulpuk, dinner & overnight at Camp.

Day 10

Trek about 10 km, drive to New Dongba. Overnight at Hotel Yak New Dongba.

Day 11

Drive New Dongba to Nyalam. Overnight at Hotel Sesabang Nyalam.

Day 12

Morning after completing Chinese immigration and drive back to Kathmandu. Overnight at Hotel Gangjong or similar Hotel.

Day 13

Departure transfer to Airport to connect flight for onward journey.

Kathmandu Airport Transfers on arrival and departure

02 Nights on twin - sharing accommodation at 3 Star Hotel in Kathmandu on AP basis.

Half day Sight - seeing Tour in Kathmandu with English speaking guide.

Payment: Initial Booking amount INR .25,000/- only (Non-refundable) along with copy of Passport, 2 Color Photo.

Tout cancellation policy:

Passengers can cancel their Trip 15 days before their departure; of which the former prepaid booking charges will not be refunded. Please send your cancellation by fax or email, Oral cancellation will not be entertained. Cancellation charges per person :

30 or more days prior to departure         INR .25,000 /- non refundable

07 to 15 days prior to the departure       50 % of the Holiday Cost

07 or In case of no show       100 % of Holiday Cost

 

Note:

 

For the confirmation of the tour INR 25,000/- should be paid by the member in advance.

Upon the confirmation 100% deposit is required before 30 days of the commencement of the tour.

ENROLLMENT TERMS & CONDITIONS AND YOUR CONCENT FOR KAILASH MANSAROVAR YATRA 

1.  Term & Conditions

In completing and submitting the Booking Form, you agree to be bound by these conditions which constitute the agreement between MAITRI HOLIDAYS and YOU. These conditions apply to the exclusion of any other terms or conditions unless they are set out in the Booking Form or are otherwise agreed to in writing by the parties. Previous dealings between the parties will not vary these conditions. No claimed variation of these conditions will be effective unless in writing and signed by a person so authorized by MAITRI HOLIDAYS

2.  PAYMENT

FULL PAYMENT must be received before 30 days of your departure date. Without full payment one cannot commence their trip. No Exception Accepted.

3.  CANCELLATION POLICY

It is our most important aim that you enjoy your holiday and that we earn your trust. However, we are not responsible for any cancellation due to any industrial disputes, Technical failure of any type of transport we use, loss of earnings, late arrivals or any items beyond our control.

4.  MEDICAL DISCLOSURE

You declare that :-

You are in good health and mental and physical fitness at the time of booking this trip.

You have disclosed to MAITRI HOLIDAYS every matter concerning your health and mental and physical fitness of which you are aware, or ought to reasonably be expected to know, that is relevant to MAITRI HOLIDAYS decision to permit you to go on the trip.

5.  ROUTE CHANGES, POSTPONEMENT, CANCELLATION OR DELAY

MAITRI HOLIDAYS reserves the right to :

Change the date of departure or conclusion of the trip. Modify any aspect of the trip. Cancel or modify any routes within the trip or objectives set out in the itinerary. Substitute different or equivalent routes within the trip in place of cancelled or modified routes. Postpone, cancel or delay, any such aspect of the tour if, in the absolute discretion of MAITRI HOLIDAYS, it is necessary to do so due to inclement weather, snow or icy conditions or conditions that are otherwise likely to be hazardous or dangerous or due to any other adverse or threatening conditions whether political or military or terrorist or otherwise or if, in the absolute discretion of MAITRI HOLIDAYS, there is a likelihood of any such event occurring which may impact upon the safety of the participants, or if an act or omission of a third party prevents the tour or the aspect of the tour being undertaken in accordance with your booking. In the event of any change, modification, cancellation, postponement or delay under this condition, you acknowledges that you will have no right of refund of the tour price (whether in whole or in part) and no right to claim compensation for any injury, loss or damage or other additional expenses incurred by virtue of the change, modification, cancellation, postponement or delay. MAITRI HOLIDAYS also reserves, in its absolute discretion, the right to cancel any tour due to any government travel warning or advice, or any change in such warning or advice.

Make a final decision that is binding in case of any differences or disputes during the trip. Cancel a trip if a participant does not comply with all the formalities required by Nepalese and Chinese authorities’ en-route. Any participants carrying unlawful drugs, political propaganda, firearms or pamphlets will immediately be excluded from the tour without any refund.

6.  INSURANCE

Personal travel insurance is not included in the trip price. It is a condition of booking a trip with MAITRI HOLIDAYS, and your responsibility to ensure that you are adequately insured for the full duration of the trip in respect of illness, injury, death, loss of baggage and personal items.

7.  TRIP PRICES

The prices are based on ground costs, fuel prices, airfares, exchange rates and assumptions made at the printing of the brochure. MAITRI HOLIDAYS tries its utmost not to increase trip prices (in full or part), however sometimes increases are outside its control. MAITRI HOLIDAYS reserves the right to amend trip prices (or any part) without notice at any time before and including the departure date. Amendments may be necessitated for many reasons including, but not limited to, exchange rate fluctuations, increased fuel costs, airfares, airport charges, increases in ground operator service fees, or the need to engage alternative air or ground operators. Any increase in trip prices must be paid prior to the departure date.

8.  ASSUMPTION OF RISK

You accept and agree to assume all risk associated with the journeys and further agree to abide by the terms and conditions of MAITRI HOLIDAYS as described herein and its brochures and publications. In the event of illness, accident, weather, political and other factors beyond their control, I will not hold MAITRI HOLIDAYS and its Agents, Associates or Employees responsible or liable for damages. I understand I am traveling at my own risk.

9.  RELEASE AND WAIVER O FLIABILITY

In consideration of MAITRI HOLIDAYS accepting your booking application and in consideration of you being permitted by MAITRI HOLIDAYS to join the tour:

You release MAITRI HOLIDAYS and its officers, employees, agents, licensees, guides and other representatives and the land management authorities in the countries in which the trip is conducted (each of whom are collectively referred to as (MAITRI HOLIDAYS and its employees) from all cost, liability, loss or damage incurred or suffered by you directly or indirectly during the course of the trip and resulting from your personal injury, illness or death or damage to or loss of your property unless caused by the willful negligence or wrongful act of MAITRI HOLIDAYS and its employees.

 

You waive any claims you have, or may at any time have, against MAITRI HOLIDAYS and its Employees and you agree, by accepting the additional inherent dangers and risks associated with the trip, not to make any claim against or seek any compensation from MAITRI HOLIDAYS and its employees in respect of any personal injury, illness or death suffered by you or damage to or loss of property sustained by you as a result of your participation in the trip. You understand that you are traveling at your own risk.

 

You further understand and accept that due to the nature of travel in mountains and also due to certain tours and conditions imposed upon MAITRI HOLIDAYS by the principals i.e. the Chinese travel authorities, you will not be eligible for any refund of the cost for whatsoever reason when the trip is actually launched, and if you make a cancellation after completing booking formalities you lose the amount mentioned in the cancellation policy.

IMPORTANT PRE-DEPARTURE INFORMATION:

Clothing

All the pilgrims are informed to carry casual wears and comfortable walking shoes as per the rule of Tibet. Make sure to bring woolen clothes due to the chilly and cold weather of the region. Saris are strictly no for Indian pilgrims. Keep with you all the necessary items from home such as medicines, toiletries, cosmetics and first-aid kit as it is quite difficult to obtain them during the journey. A route map will let you know about the destinations you are going to visit.

What to take

It is highly recommended to carry warm woolen clothes and winter wears such as raincoat, Gore-Tex material, thermal under wears, down jacket, warm shirts, sweaters & trousers, gloves, comfortable shoes, leather boots, monkey cap, sun hat and scarf to be protected form winter ailments.

Bring with you

We advise you to bring good amount of snacks with you such as dry fruits, toffees, chocolates and namkeens to feed your appetite in small quantities throughout the journey. Bring strong water bottle & water purifying tablets to avoid problems like upset stomach and food poisoning. Keep sun glasses and sun screen lotion with you to protect your eyes and skin from ultra violet rays in high altitudes. Other essentials that must kept in consideration while travelling in mountains includes personal medical kit, Diamox tablet, deo spray, toiletries, torch, batteries, shoulder bag, Digital camera and binoculars.

Health

Mountain trips are one of the toughest road journeys on this earth. Tourists must be physically fit without a doubt. Asthma and heart patients face problem in getting accustomed to high altitudes. We advise you to have a proper check-up with your doctor to known whether you are capable coping up with the adversities of high altitude region during the course of your trip.

Altitude Sickness

While travelling in high altitude, it is obvious to experience adverse symptoms of altitude sickness such as severe headache, nausea, sleeplessness, loss of appetite, breathlessness and exhaustion until your body gets acclimatized to the region. Acclimatization can take couple of days depending upon individual to individual. To avoid these uncertainties, we would like to give you following advice such as drink lots of water, smoking & drinking is a highly prohibited during the tour, carry Diamox tablets with suggestions from physician over dosage. A special Gamow bag is also provided to avoid sickness in high altitudes.

Currency

The unit of Chinese currency is Yuan. USD 1 = 7.00 Yuan. 1 Yuan = INR 8.00 approx; Money can exchange at Bank of China at Zhangmu or from the locals at Zhangmu or Kodari. Exchange all your remaining Yuan at the end of the trip at Zhangmu itself before re-entering Nepal.

Risks & Liability

Our tour representatives will make all endeavors to provide you with smooth and satisfying travelling experience. But while travelling in Tibet, everyone has to follow the rules and regulations of Tibet Tourism Bureau. Hence we shall not be hold responsible for any modification in the program due to natural calamity and technical reasons such as road blockage, snowstorm, flood, landslide, political unrest, accidents and flight cancellations.
